Type 1, or Juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that strikes suddenly, makes someone insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Someone is diagnosed with juvenile diabetes every hour, and approximately 15,000 children are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes each year. That's over 40 children each day!
